Joan M. Kopczynski

Joan M. Kopczynski (nee Moloughney), 90, of Bel Air, MD passed away on January 11, 2025, at Lorien nursing home in Bulle Rock, Havre de Grace, Maryland. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she was the late daughter of Joseph and Elsa Moloughney. Joan worked for several years in New York City as an administrative assistant as well as several other jobs throughout her life. Joan was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, John R. Kopczynski who passed away November 1, 2015. Together they raised their family for 16+ years in Bergenfield, NJ where they were parishioners of Ascension Parish. After relocating to Maryland, Joan and John became members of Saint Margaret’s Catholic church. Family and friends were her pride and joy, and she loved them all dearly. Joan will be deeply missed by her family for her love, humor, and generosity.

Joan Kopczynski is survived by her son, John Kopczynski, and his wife Teri Kopczynski; daughter Karen Hofheinz and her husband Juergen Hofheinz; grandchildren, Aaron M., Brianna M., and Nicholas W. Kopczynski, Erik J., Christopher M., and Danielle D. Hofheinz. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Debra Kopczynski and her sisters, Frances McCarthy and Elizabeth Gottschalk, and brothers Joseph, Donald, and Jerome Moloughney.
