Joan Naomi Koehler, age 82, a beloved resident of Middle River, Maryland, passed away on March 18, 2024, at Brightview Assisted Living of Bel Air in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Donald and Emily (Stambaugh) Hare and was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Koehler.
Joan lived a vibrant life filled with creativity and compassion. She had a passion for shopping and found great joy in creating intricate floral arrangements through her crafts. Joan was also an avid dog lover, finding solace and companionship in her furry friends throughout the years.
Joan is survived by her devoted brother, Donald (Peggy) Franklin Hare, Jr., her adoring grandson, Donald F. Hare, III, her beloved granddaughter, Emily Hare, and her caring nephews, Matthew Morse and Aaron Patrick O'Keefe. She is also survived by her precious great-granddaughter, Sophia Hare.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by her dear sister, Donna Lee Popp.
In memory of Joan's compassionate spirit and love for animals, contributions may be made to the Harford County Humane Society.
