Joan Louise Douglas

Joan Louise Douglas, age 78, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025. Born in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruby (Havener) Bender and the beloved wife of Wayne Douglas.

A devoted member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Joppa, Joan actively participated in church activities, including volunteering with the church food pantry. She was a woman of many talents and interests, finding joy in boating, camping, bowling, crocheting, and sewing. Above all, Joan was deeply invested in her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Umbrell, and son-in-law, Randy Umbrell; her cherished grandchildren, Kyle Browning, Megan Douglas, and Cooper Browning; and her brother, William Bender, and his wife, Theresa.

Joan’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
