Joan Deckelman Eader

JOAN DECKELMAN EADER, age 72, of Pylesville, MD, died on July 6, 2007 at her home. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Albert and Elizabeth Agnes Burgan Deckelman. A Harford county resident since 1976, she held various jobs including medical secretary and property management secretary. She later was executive secretary for Jim Harkins during his tenure in the House of Delegates and Harford County Executive and enjoyed staying informed with the political environment. She continued as executive secretary with the Harford County Department of Human Resources, where she was presently working. She also enjoyed boating and crabbing, but mostly helping others.

Mrs. Eader is survived by her husband of 39 years, Daniel David Eader of Pylesville, MD; one son, David Daniel Eader of Ocean City, MD; a brother, George A. Deckelman of Richmond, KY; and three sisters, Judith Lloyd of Bel Air, MD, Freda Fahey of Glen Arm, MD, and Elizabeth Brooks of Perry Hall, MD.

Pallbearers were Rusty Leftwich, Jim Harkins, Joe Ryan, John Klein, Rob McCord, Robert Lowe, and Everett Duncan.
