JOAN CALDWELL WOLFE, age 74, of Darlington, MD died Friday, September 3, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital., Baltimore, MD. She was born May 14, 1930 in Marion, Virginia. She was a graduate of Marion High School, Marion, Virginia, class of 1948. She moved to Harford County, MD when she married in 1949. Her name at birth was Violet Naomi and was later changed to her nickname Joan. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist. She spent most of her life raising her three children and helping with her grandchildren. She worked many years at the News Center in Bel Air, MD. She was divorced. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Okie Alverta Russell Caldwell Walton and John Edward Caldwell, Sr.; brother, William Joseph Caldwell, Sr., half-brother Daniel Howard Caldwell; sisters Dorothy Caldwell Palumbo; Martha Caldwell Peters and half-sister, Alice Walton.
She is survived by son Carlton Blair Wolfe of Darlington, MD; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Bryant and Beverly Wolfe of Phoenix, MD; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Kay and Paul Kuss of Havre de Grace, MD; brother, John Edward Caldwell, Jr. of Atkins, Virginia; half brother, Thomas Dunn Caldwell of Florida; Half-sisters, Beatrice Dante of Churchville, MD; Frances Wiggins of Michigan; five grandchildren, Christopher Blair Wolfe of Aberdeen; Katy Elizabeth Wolfe, Kristen Emily Wolfe, Kiley Erin Wolfe, all of Phoenix; and Kathleen Jean Kuss of Havre
de Grace; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
