Jim Pasqual, 84, of Joppatowne, Md. passed away on July 11, 2015. Born in Monongah, W.V., he was the son of the late John and Mary Pasqual, and husband of the late Rosemary Urse Pasqual.
A graduate of Monongah High School, he attended Fairmont State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in education and started on the football team. He continued his education at West Virginia University, where he earned his master's degree and became a proud alumnus. A Harford County school teacher for more than 30 years, Jim taught physical and driver's education at both Edgewood and Joppatowne High Schools. He also enjoyed coaching track and field, cross country, and wrestling. He retired from teaching in 1983.
Jim will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor and his ability to remember all the students he taught and coached during his career. It seemed as if he had taught an entire generation of Harford County kids how to drive. He was an avid reader, enjoyed working in the yard, and loved spending time with his family. His family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Brightview Avondell for their care and friendship.
Jim is survived by his sons, Jimmy Pasqual and wife, Kitty, of Pylesville and Rich Pasqual and wife Helen, of Perry Hall; daughter, Suzanne Yanky and husband, Keith, of Bel Air; brother, John Pasqual of Bel Air; sister, Mary Labin of Largo, Fla.; and grandchildren, Jamey, Chris and wife, Cristina, Leighana, Scott, Logan and Madison Pasqual, and Allison, Emily and Rachel Yanky. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brothers, Tony and Joe Pasqual.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Va. 22312.
