Jim Betlejewski, age 72, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on January 4, 2022 at his home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Albert and Bernette (Smith) Betlejewski. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served his country in the Vietnam Era. He retired from General Motors in 1997 where he worked as Video Director and had started on the assembly line and then worked in the video department. He graduated from the Maryland Institute of Broadcasting and worked at WXCY after various other stations as a DJ known as "Jim King". He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was involved with their folk group. He loved spending time and playing with his granddaughter and enjoyed playing guitar and walking the dog.
Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Evelyn (Sherman) Betlejewski; son, Cory (Laurie) Betlejewski; daughter, Carrie (Rob) Cogley; granddaughter, Violet Paige Betlejewski; and brothers, Kevin and Robert Betlejewski.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Maryland.
