Jim Bedinger

JIM BEDINGER, age 69, of Pylesville, MD, died on April 18, 2007 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born in Portales, NM, he was the son of Lily Oney Faulkenbery, of Portales, NM and the late Andrew Emmett Bedinger. He served in the US Air Force from 1959 to 1963. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM, and did postgraduate work at Johns Hopkins University. He was an electrical engineer and retired from Baltimore Gas and Electric Company in 1994. Beginning in 1971 he and his wife built “Constant Effort Farm” where he raised beef cattle and maintained a large garden. He became deeply involved with breeding, raising, and promoting the Icelandic horse. He often said that his greatest joy in life was riding his Icelandic horses at Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area with his wife and Hayley and Tessa Amey, whom he regarded as grand nieces.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Marjorie R. Greenfield Bedinger of Pylesville, MD; one sister, Helen J. Owen of Long Boat Key, FL; 2 nieces, Cymantha Owen and Sonja Gentry, and a nephew, Brett Bedinger.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth L. Bedinger.
