JEROME A. MEUSEL, age 87, formerly of Bel Air where he had lived for 15 years, died in Oak Crest Village, Baltimore, on October 28, 2002. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Clarence Earl and Catherine Kmieciak Meusel. He was Vice President of Research and Development at Baltimore Spice Company. He was one of the developers of the Old Bay Seafood Seasoning. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. A chemist by profession, he built his home in Overlea. He enjoyed fishing, walking in Bel Air to the Liriodendron Mansion, and woodworking and was interested in archeology. Upon retiring, Mr. and Mrs. Meusel lived in Ireland for 18 years.
Mr. Meusel is survived by his wife, Ellen Glynn Meusel, whom he married on November 3, 1937; two daughters, M. Patricia Wisel of Fallston; Kathleen E. Melewski of Kingsville; four grandchildren, Sandra Libby of White Marsh, Steven Wisel of Bel Air, David Wisel of Forest Hill and Lisa Lauer of Arnold; and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Caitlin Libby, both of White Marsh.
Pallbearers will be: Steven Wisel, David Wisel, Sandy Libby, Eric Libby, Don Lauer and Lisa Lauer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wilmer Eye Institute, 600 N. Wolfe St., Wilmer 112, Baltimore, MD 21237.
