Jean Lucy Weikel

Jean Lucy Weikel, age 90, of Edgewood, Maryland passed away on January 7, 2021 at Sterling Care Riverside. Born in Barry, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of James and Martha (Woomer) Dietrich and wife of the late Homer Weikel, Jr. At the age of 41 she raised her children after her husband died, working as a Registered Nurse. She worked countless hours helping others the way she would want to be helped. Jean loved fishing and teaching her son how to play sports. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, her family will miss her dearly.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jean Sullivan and her husband, Timothy; son, Homer Marvin Weikel, III and his wife, Laurie; grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Homer Marvin Weikel, IV, Alexis Weikel, Samantha Sullivan and Amanda Sullivan; and great grandchildren, Brooklyn Weikel and Homer Marvin Weikel, V.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherrie Lynn Weikel, brothers, Clifford Dietrich, Lindy Dietrich, Raymond Dietrich, Allen Dietrich and Teddy Dietrich, and sister, Betty Ferone.
