Janie Mae Foard

Janie M. Foard of Dover, DE passed away at the age of 85 on June 7, 2016 at Bayhealth Milford Hospital in Milford, DE. She was born in Chocowinity, NC, daughter of the late James A. Smith and Lillie Chauncey Smith.

Mrs. Foard was the wife of the late James E. Foard, Jr. to whom she was married for 56 years. She was retired from C&P Telephone Company of Maryland. She was active in her church and church auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband loved to travel. They visited every state in the union and made several trips to other countries. She liked working with crafts, following the Baltimore Orioles, and NASCAR. She enjoyed eating out with friends, especially Chinese food.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foard was preceded in death by her siblings, Myrtie Florence Smith Arnold Parker, Helen Daughton, Andrew Smith, Donald Smith, Arthur Mack Smith, and William Thelbert Smith. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
