Janice ''Sissy'' Harkins

JANICE “SISSY” HARKINS, age 58, of Bel Air, Maryland, died in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center on December 30, 2002. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Bertha Gertrude Merritt Tawney of Glen Burnie, and the late Lewis Selby Tawney, Jr. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Harkins. She was a member of the American Legion Bel Air Post 39 Ladies Auxiliary and the Bel Air Moose. She enjoyed going to Ocean City.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Harkins is survived by one son, Curtis S. Williams of Fairborn, Ohio; two brothers, Marvin “Chickie” Tawney of Pasadena, Maryland; Lewis S. Tawney, III of Sanford, North Carolina; a half-sister, JoAnn “Sis” Swain of Bel Air, Maryland; four grandchildren, Cody Pennywitt, Paige Aldridge; Hayley Aldridge; and C.J. Williams all of Fairborn, Ohio. She is also survived by a dear friend, William Greene “Greenie” (“My Little Buddy”) of Bel Air, Maryland.
