Janice Haddon Newcomb, 92, of Parkville, Maryland, passed away on March 15, 2025, at Oak Crest Senior Living in Parkville.
Born in Richmond, Virginia, Janice was the daughter of Wade Marshall Haddon and Margaret (Childress) Haddon. She was the beloved wife of the late Irvin Ray Newcomb, whom she met in Baltimore, Maryland where she was a longtime resident. Irvin worked as an engineer for Martin Marietta, and together, they built a long and beautiful life filled with love and devotion to family.
Janice’s world revolved around her family, and she took great joy in caring for them. She had a passion for sewing and traveling, and she was a Master Gardener, an active member of the Gardening Club, and a dedicated lover of flowers and planting. Her love for animals, especially orange cats, was well known among those who knew her. She also had a keen interest in technology and was a proud member of the Computer Club.
Above all, Janice will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and sister. She is survived by her two sons, Raymond Marshall (Tracey) Newcomb and Steven E. (Lucinda) Newcomb, as well as her sister, Iris Hall.
Her warmth, kindness, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
