Jane Edwards Harkins

Jane Edwards Harkins, age 73, of Abingdon, MD, died on January 18, 2011 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Asheboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jeff Elgin and Ruth Brookshire Edwards. A member of Deer Creek United Methodist Church, she was the organist there and at Mt. Tabor for over 50 years. She was also a member of United Methodist Women; loved working with her flowers, and enjoyed baking.

Ms. Harkins is survived by her sons, Jason Paul Harkins of Street, MD and Jeffrey Thomas Harkins of Abingdon, MD; daughter, Beverly H. Rhodes of Bel Air, MD; brother, William E. Edwards of Forest Hill, MD; and two grandchildren, Nathan C. and Nick L. Rhodes, both of Bel Air, MD. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Nathan F. Harkins.

Pallbearers will be Mark Edwards, Eric Edwards, Nathan Rhodes, Nick Rhodes, Jonathan Harvey, and Nickalas Shreve.
