JANE BEVERLY HILL, age 77, of Rockville, died at the home of her son in Bel Air, Maryland, on July 22, 2004. Born in Washington, D.C, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Winter, Sr. and Elsie Irene Wollett Payne and the wife of the late Robert Heiskell Hill, Sr. She lived in Washington D.C. and Maryland most of her life. She was employed by the American Red Cross during WWII working out of the attic of Constitution Hall where she and two doctors started the blood bank. She was actively involved in church and charity work both here and in Thailand where she lived for a number of years. She had taught English as a second language at the Bangkok School for the Blind.
Mrs. Hill is survived by two sons, Robert Heiskell Hill, Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Bel Air, Maryland and Scott Harvey Hill and his wife, Marta, of Damascus, Maryland; two daughters, Beverly Virginia Hill Theil and her husband, Kenneth, of Wooster, Ohio and Jayna Lynne Hill of Niceville, Florida; a brother, Ernest William Payne of Weems, Virginia; eight grandchildren; and one great grandson. In addition to her parents and husband of 40 years, she was predeceased by two brothers, Harvey Winter Payne, Jr. and George Allen Payne and two sisters, Evelyn Irene Pierson and Mildred Virginia Payne Brady.
