Jane Alverta Knode

Jane Alverta Knode, age 87, of Frederick, Maryland passed away on December 7, 2020 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Charles Gilland Jr. and Edna (Brady) Gilland. Jane worked 25 years for the State of Maryland; the last 17 years on the staff of the Albert S. Cook Library at Towson University. She was a longtime member of the Bel Air United Methodist Church and over the past 5 years was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Frederick. For over 60 years, Jane was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and is a Past Worthy Matron of Harford Chapter #83. She enjoyed traveling, trips to the beach and spending time with family.

Jane is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald Knode, Sr; daughter, Gail Coppersmith (Mark); son, Donald Knode, Jr. (Tracey); sisters, Norma Lee Morris and Linda Lou Murphy; grandchildren, Sarah Crawford (Brad), Matthew Coppersmith and Haley Knode; and 2 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Gail Gilland.

Services will be available for view at mccomasfuneralhome.com on Monday, December 14, 2020.
