Jan Pukl

JAN PUKL, age 80, of Belcamp, died in Lorien Riverside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on June 10, 2004. Born August 23, 1923 in Brno, Czechoslovakia, he immigrated to the United States in 1951 with his wife Marianne and son George. He worked at Bata Shoe Company for 37 years. Family members recall his fondness for music and dancing and his active participation in soccer. He enjoyed outdoor life particularly the Maryland shoreline and European Alps.

Mr. Pukl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marianne Zuber Pukl; one son, George Pukl of Santa Clara, California; one daughter, Linda Abraham of Westport, Connecticut; one sister, Marie Vaverkova of Czechoslovakia; four grandchildren, George Pukl, Jr.; Aaron Abraham; Patricia Pukl; Silas Abraham; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Pukl; Alex Pukl; and Dylan Pukl.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that a donation be made to Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activity Fund, 1123 Belcamp Garth, Belcamp, Maryland 21017.
