James Warren Hamilton Sr., age 82, of Aberdeen, MD passed away on December 15, 2018 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Churchville, MD, he was the son of Warren Hamilton and Dorothy (Plummer) Loux and husband of Rose (Vincenti) Hamilton of Aberdeen.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, James Warren Hamilton, Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Kris (Petty) Hamilton; grandchildren, James Warren Hamilton, III and Shelby Danielle Hamilton; and sisters, Patricia Potter and Donna Jean Scotten.
He dedicated a major portion of his life to the Bel Air Bakery, which he owned and operated for 63 years. It was here that many local customers gathered every day at the coffee counter; some knew him as Jim, others as Jimmy or “Jimmy the Danish”. He played a major role in the revitalization of Bond Street by bringing many new businesses to the area. He was not only a local business owner, but also a strong supporter of the community and its organizations.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Association Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 6051, Albert Lea, MN, 56007.
