James Howard Smith

James (Jim) Smith, age 62, of Abingdon, Maryland passed away on January 6, 2024, at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Born in Mullins, West Virginia, he was the son of Estel Lee and Ruth Belle (Smith) Smith. Jim retired from Amtrak after 35 years of service. He loved his children and his grandkids. Jim liked collecting coins, hunting, and was a big sports fan, especially for the Ravens.
Jim was a devoted, loving husband; survived by his wife of 39 years, Robin Smith; sons, Joshua (Jennifer) Smith, Matthew Smith, and Daniel (Ashley) Smith; daughter, Sarah (Bob) Smith; grandchildren, James Smith, and Jack Smith; sisters, Judy Eberwein and Linda Gray; mother-in-law, Kitty Asbury.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Smith.
