James proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, demonstrating unwavering dedication to his country. His commitment extended beyond his military service as he became an active member of William Watters Memorial United Methodist Church and VFW Post 8672, Jarrettsville.
A family man at heart, James has always been most proud of his family, loving any time they had together, including spending time with his grandchildren. His adventurous spirit shone through in his love for traveling, camping, and taking scenic day trips with Grace, whether it be getting lunch or looking for flowers. James embraced the journey, always opting for different routes and appreciating the beauty of the world around him.
James was known for his love of his Farmall tractor and enjoyed tending to his chickens and other animals throughout his life.
The one thing he would want everyone to know about him is that he has lived for his country and his family. Faithful is the best word to describe himself to someone.
In addition to his wife, Grace Ann, James is survived by his daughters, Tracey Morrison and Jamie Sunderhaus and her husband, Michael, as well as two sons, James Morrison Jr. and his wife, Michelle, and Jason Morrison and his wife, Anna; and grandchildren, Lance Sunderhaus, MiKayla Sunderhaus, Marlee Sunderhaus, Maeve Morrison, and Nora Morrison.
To honor James's memory and express condolences, contributions may be made to Fisher House Foundation at FisherHouse.org.
