James Edward Minton Sr., age 64, of Jarrettsville, Maryland, passed away on February 18, 2025, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. Born in Havre de Grace, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Trout) Minton.
James had a deep love for music, especially playing the guitar and writing songs. Over the years, he worked as an agent for The Aegis newspaper and was a dedicated entrepreneur, owning and operating The Video Store and Harford Gift House, both in Jarrettsville. He also played a vital role in the family business, Jarrettsville Builders, where he took on many responsibilities.
An avid outdoorsman, James found joy in deer hunting and crabbing, often sharing these pastimes with family and friends. He was a former member of North Harford Baptist Church and will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and strong work ethic.
James is survived by his daughter, Nicole Ashley Minton; his sons, James Edward Minton Jr., and Matthew Minton; grandchild, Hailey Foltzer; brother, William "Bill" Minton and sister, Carolyn Ramsburg.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Alan Minton.
