James Leslie McFillin, Jr., age 74, of Bel Air, MD passed away on January 21, 2019 at his home. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late James McFillin and Anna Mae (Caulfield) Bliven and husband of 56 years to Lucinda (Knipple) McFillin of Bel Air. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, he was a Police Officer in the Baltimore City K-9 Unit, retiring after 22 years, and then worked for the Maryland Lottery Commission at Casinos in Perryville and Baltimore. He enjoyed playing music in the band Sunrise for many years where he played Guitar and sang and also enjoyed playing in the Baltimore City Police Band.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McFillin is survived by his beloved hairless cat "Jingles", his sons, Ron (Julie)McFillin of Darlington and Jeffery (Laura) McFillin of Abingdon; brothers, Richard McFillin, Donald McFillin, James McFillin and Robert McFillin; sisters, Carolyn Auman and Joyce Miller; grandchildren, Rose, Alyssa, Joseph (Sarah), Stephen, James, Ruth and Peter McFillin; Goddaughters, Kelley Anders, Kathy Herron and Lori Darmafall along with many other nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mae Bliven, his sisters, Ruth Meritis and Sherri McFillin, grandchild, Jason McFillin, and step father, Robert Bliven.
