James Leonard Wilson, age 71, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away on September 22, 2011 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born in Gattman, MS, he was the son of the late Cordie Leonard Wilson and Viola Jewell Hammontree Wingfield. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he owned and operated J.W. & Sons Inc. and was also past Commodore of Bush River Yacht Club. He was an avid golfer, boater, and fisherman. An active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, he was a generous man and was known to all to have a sense of humor and great wit.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Anne Rhoades Wilson who he married on July 14, 1962 in Baltimore; son, Scott Leonard Wilson and wife, Janine, of Finksburg, MD; daughters, Terry Lynn Russo and husband, William, of Forest Hill, MD, Robin Carol Jarvis and husband, Sam, of St. Augustine, FL, and Jamie Dawn Outlaw and husband, Michael, of Abingdon, MD; ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher and Anthony Wilson, Stephanie, Matthew, and Hannah Russo, Tricia Collison, Jeremy Herriott, and Zackary and Haley Outlaw; and mother-in-law, Beatrice Rhoades of Bel Air, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, JoAnn Murray.
Pallbearers will be Scott and Nicholas Wilson, William and Matthew Russo, Michael Outlaw, Chuck Browning, Sam Jarvis and Jeremy Herriott.
