James J. Kennedy

James J. Kennedy, 91, of Edgewood, MD passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, at Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, Maryland. Born in New York City, he was the son of Michael and Elizabeth (O'Shea) Kennedy (deceased).

A devoted husband for many years, James was predeceased by his wife, Elise (Hansen) Kennedy. They shared a love for Denmark, her home country, which he cherished throughout his life.

James served his country in the U.S. Army and remained a proud veteran. He later dedicated 15 years of service to the U.S. Post Office.

James was a faithful parishioner at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He held dear his connection to family and friends, both in New York and his adopted community. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones and neighbors, often over a cold beer.

James is survived by his son, Michael Mads (Janet) Kennedy.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sisters, Patsy Conwell and Eileen Cassidy, and brother, Ed Kennedy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at McComas Family Funeral Home in Abingdon, Maryland. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

James's warmth, dedication, and love of family and friends will be deeply missed.
