James H. Greene

James H. Greene, age 84, of Fallston, MD, died on July 29, 2010 at Hart Heritage Estates in Street, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Hoy Patrick and Jennie Alberta Wagner Greene and husband of the late Ivah R. Greene. A life long resident of Harford County, he was raised on a farm at Upper Cross Roads and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving our country during peacetime. He owned Greene Brothers Construction along with his brother, building several homes in Harford County before going on to work for Jarrettsville Builders as a foreman then retiring after 30 years. A former member of Upper Cross Roads Baptist Church, he was currently a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church since 1965 where he served as Deacon, Trustee and a former Sunday school teacher. He loved his granddaughter and considered her the light of his life and also enjoyed building custom furniture for friends and family.

Mr. Greene is survived by his daughter, Sharon G. Walls and her husband, Tom, of Forest Hill, MD; brother Roscoe L. Greene of Sarasota, FL; sisters, Wilma Bruffey of Allentown, PA, Lucy Hampton of Bel Air, MD and Grace Jarvis of Polk City, FL; and granddaughter, Katie L. Walls of Forest Hill, MD. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sisters, Rosedna McMahon and Lavaun Meehan.

Pallbearers were Richard Weih, Bill Minton, David Greene, Robert "Bob" Cardwell, Joe Meehan and Tim Bruffey. Honorary pallbearers were Ervin Greene, Bill Gibson, Ralph Walls, Gene Poole, Bob Bailey, Ronnie Greene, Maria Greene, Charles Nichols and Jim Meehan.
