James Grant Lancaster

On January 9, 2012, James Grant Lancaster, loving husband of Lorraine; devoted son of the late James and Emma; dear brother of the late Robert and Harry; beloved father of Elizabeth Fellows (Andrew) and David Lancaster (Bonita); and doting grandfather "Pop" to Ryan, Megan, and Hannah Lancaster.

He was born June 6, 1930 in Frostburg, MD. After graduating high school in 1948, he worked as a bookkeeper before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1950. While in the Navy he served on a supply ship and visited Greenland, Haiti, Cuba, Casablanca, Tripoli and Naples. He left the service to care for his mother following her stroke in 1954. He then moved to Baltimore with his younger brother, Bob, and there met and married Lorraine, his surviving wife of 53 ½ years. James lived in Perry Hall and worked as an accountant until his retirement in the late 1990's. He enjoyed golf, home improvements, music, and spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren.
