JAMES FRANKLIN “FRANK” O’CONNOR, age 82, of Edgewood, died at his home on June 28, 2004. A life long resident of Harford County, he was born in Harford Furnace, Maryland the son of the late Patrick O’Connor and the late Caroline Spies Kohler. The home where he was born is now on the historical register. At five weeks of age, he was baptized at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Abingdon, Maryland. He was a long time usher at St. Francis. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII as a gunner’s mate working on rescue ships. He worked for the Federal Government for 32 years, retiring as Branch Chief of Facilities at APG. After retiring, he went to work as Town Supervisor of Operations for Perryville. He was past commodore of Otter Point Yacht Club. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council since 1946, Maurice J. Wolf Council where he earned his 4th Degree, and also the Grand Knight of Bel Air Council 4714 where he also was a financial secretary.
Mr. O’Connor is survived by his wife of 61 years, M. Evelyn Crane O’Connor; two daughters, Karen Ann O’Connor Chubb of Joppa and E. Maria O’Connor Lucas of Abingdon; two brothers, Charles J. O’Connor of Delta and Robert V. O’Connor of Jensen Beach, Florida; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, James Franklin O’Connor, Jr.
Members of the Knights of Columbus will serve at pallbearers.
