James Francis Herold Jr.

JAMES “JIM” FRANCIS HEROLD JR., age 62, of Edgewood, MD, died on October 13, 2006, at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of James Francis Herold Sr. and the late Ruth Lena Bosie Herold. Mr. Herold, a resident of Edgewood for 23 years, worked for The Sun paper years ago, American Bank Stationary for 27 years, and Clorox for the last 15 years, where he was a machinist in the chemical industry. He was a life member of Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company and a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church for 20 years, where he sang in both Kingdom Bound and Chancellor Choirs, served as past head usher (he followed George Greenfield), and was responsible for maintaining the sign in front of the church. He was always ready to help out with whatever was needed around the church. He loved electronics and trains and was an avid collector of Model HO trains, model Jeeps, and Fire trucks. He assisted with the train that used to run at Flying Point Park in Edgewood, Maryland.

Mr. Herold is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Tischner Herold of Edgewood, MD; four daughters, Donna Kozub and her husband Chris of Bel Air, MD, Tonja Jones of Darlington, MD, Linda Blackburn of Darlington, MD, and Jennifer Herold of Edgewood, MD; one son-in-law, Kelly Jones of Jarrettsville, MD; and eight grandchildren, Stacy Kozub and Megan Kozub, both of Bel Air, MD, Jimmy Jones, Robyn Jones, and Travis Jones, all of Jarrettsville, MD, Robert James of Darlington, MD, and Richard Blackburn and Kaitlyn Blackburn, both of Darlington, MD.
