James F. Lytle Sr., age 88, of Churchville, MD, formerly of White Marsh, MD passed away on June 28, 2012 at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Shawsville, MD, he was the son of the late Elmer Webster and Ida Virginia Baker Lytle and husband of the late Margie T. Heaton Lytle. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during WWII. He was a conductor for the Patapsco & Back Rivers Railroad where he retired after 32 years, a former long time member of Cowenton UM Church and was a current member of Churchville Presbyterian Church, Perry Hall American Legion Post 130, Gunpowder VFW and Masons Jephthah Lodge No. 222 in Essex.
Mr. Lytle is survived by his son, James Franklin Lytle Jr. and wife, Deborah of Estero, FL; daughter, Patricia Ann Rogers and husband, Donald of Churchville, MD; brothers, Harry, Dale, Kenneth and Joseph Lytle; sisters, Phyllis Waterstreet and Darlene Taylor; grandchildren, Perry Rogers, Donald Rogers Jr., David Rogers and Shannon Lytle; and great grandchildren, Jessica and Dillon Rogers.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by siblings, Marie Barrett, John Lytle, Dorothy Heaton, Elmer Lytle Jr., and grandson Shawn Lytle.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to Churchville Presbyterian Church, 2844 Churchville Road, Churchville, MD 21028.
