James Edwin Reeves, age 70, of Churchville, MD, died on July 13, 2010 at Perry Point Veteran Hospital in Perryville, MD. Born in Hobart, OK, he was the son of the late Kell Reeves and Ala Verina Cogdill Reeves-Sells. He began his military career as an infantryman at Fort Myers with the 3rd Army and was in the Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. He served tours of duty in Vietnam, Germany, and Korea, and was a member of the Armed Forces Police in New York. He was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 2 years before retiring and was a Sgt. 1st Class with the Military Police. He enjoyed music, being with his family, and being home. He was also a member of the Disabled Americans Veterans.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his wife, Betty June Farrell Reeves of Churchville, MD; son, James Matthew Reeves and wife, Stephanie Ann, of Belcamp, MD; daughters, Kimberly Ann Reeves Wheatley and husband, Charles, of Catonsville, MD and Kelly June Reeves Gardner of British Columbia, Canada; brother, Robert Reeves of Lonewolf, OK; sisters, Joy Lynn Verga of Oklahoma City, OK and Nona Gale Krajewski of CA; and grandchildren, Caitlin Kimberly Wheatley, Emma Elizabeth Wheatley, Cassidy Azure Sky Gardner, Sunny Noah Kelly Gardner, Isaiah Rainbow Gardner, and Zachary Charles Reeves.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of ones' choice, or to Baltimore Symphony Associates Youth Program, c/o BSO, Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, 1212 Cathedral St., Baltimore, MD 21201, and please make note on the check that it's for Orchkids.
