James Edward Foard

James Edward Foard, age 80, of Milton, DE passed away on September 20, 2012 at Kent County General Hospital in Dover, DE. Born in Rocks, MD he was the son of the late James Edward Foard Sr. and Pansy Davis Foard. He was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal service for 30 years and past president of the Maryland Rural Letters Carriers Association. He was a member of the Lions Club of Bel Air and Milton, DE, the Moose Club, lifetime member of Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company, where he was past president and held several offices, a member of William Watters Memorial United Methodist Church and served on the planning and zoning board of Bel Air. After moving to Delaware, he worked security for JR Geptier Company of Wilmington, DE. Before and after retirement, he and his wife traveled all 50 states and toured Europe. He was an avid sports fan of the Orioles, Ravens and NASCAR and had a wide collection of books, which he loved to read.

Mr. Foard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janie Smith Foard of Milton, DE; sister, Elizabeth Foard Taylor and her husband, Malcom, of Forest Hill, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Austin Kenly, Mike Freeze, Paul Chizmar, Samuel Foard, Carroll Barnes and Randy Houck.
