James Edward Akins, II, age 83, of Bel Air, died at Mariner Health of Bel Air on November 29, 2004. Born in Street, he was the son the late James Edward, Sr. and Mary Stewart Akins and the husband of the late Thelma E. Jones Akins. He had worked at The Kingsville Inn as a cook. He had been an assistant trainer for race horses at several race tracks. He was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Fallston and a member of United Methodist Men.
Mr. Akins is survived by one son, George E. Akins, Sr. and his wife, Francine of Randalstown, MD; two daughters, Dorothy M. Presberry of Bel Air, and E. Vanice Espanshand of San Jose, California; one sister, Madiline A. Barnes of Baltimore; one sister-in-law, Everhart Akins of Fallston; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a dear friend, Delores Matthews of Kingsville; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sons, James E. Akins III and Hamilton A. Akins; one daughter, Claudia E. Walton; one brother, John F. Akins; and one sister, Emma Watters.
