James E. Thrush, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday July 23, 2011. Born in Connellsville, PA, he was the son of the late Ross Thrush and Esther Ruth Walker Reed. He was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army serving in the European Theater in campaigns of Central Europe, Ardennes and Rhineland. He was an instrumental instructor in Harford County public schools for 25 years having taught previously for 11 years. After retirement in 1988, he volunteered by giving percussion lessons at Harford Christian School till a year ago. He was an active member of Upper Crossroads Baptist Church and led singing and at one time conducted the church band.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alma, a son and daughter-in-law, James Mark and Cynthia Andree; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Carpenter; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
