James E. Ehrhardt, age 67, of Baldwin, MD, died on November 22, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence Elmer and Eva Elizabeth James Ehrhardt. He graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute in 1963 and earned his B.S. in Business from the University of Baltimore in 1967. Upon graduation from college, he was the third generation to enter the family's dairy farming business. A dairy farmer his whole life, he owned and operated Ehrhardt Farms Inc. in Baldwin. He was a member of the National Holstein Association, Maryland Holstein Association, and the Maryland Thoroughbred Breeders Association. His greatest joys came from time spent with his family on his farm of registered Holstein dairy cattle. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren showing cattle and was also interested in thoroughbred horses. He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hydes, MD.
Mr. Ehrhardt is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elaine M. Hall Ehrhardt of Baldwin, MD; sons, Charles "Bucky" E. Ehrhardt, J. Brian Ehrhardt, and Kevin A. Ehrhardt and wife, Kalli, all of Baldwin, MD, and Kenneth A. Ehrhardt and wife, Jennifer, of Hydes, MD; sister, Shirley E. Hornbarger of Baldwin, MD; and six grandchildren, Lillian M., Colin C., and Elan G. Ehrhardt, all of Baldwin, MD, Hunter Rose, Gavin K. and Levi C. Ehrhardt, all of Hydes, MD; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and treasured friends.
Pallbearers will be Charles "Bucky" E. Ehrhardt, J. Brian Ehrhardt, Kevin A. Ehrhardt, Kenneth A. Ehrhardt, Chuck E. Hornbarger, and Jim E. Hornbarger.
