James (Jim) McDanel Davis, age 68, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Cherry Lane in Laurel, Maryland.
Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Jim was the beloved son of the late Paul and Gladys (Moxley) Davis of Bel Air. He was a 1975 graduate of Bel Air High School, before moving to Virginia, where he resided for most of his life.
Jim pursued higher education at Virginia Tech for several years. He dedicated his professional life to the field of computer programming, where he excelled and worked diligently for many years.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Jim had a deep appreciation for music. He was a talented tuba player and found joy in performing with community bands and within his church. His passion for music brought him and those around him much pleasure. He was an enthusiastic member of the Bel Air High School Marching Band. At Virginia Tech he was a proud member and supporter of the Marching Virginians, returning often for special events.
In his leisure time, Jim was an avid online gamer and possessed an impressive understanding of computers. He enjoyed the immersive worlds of online games and was a go-to resource for anyone with computer-related questions. He also found pleasure in the quiet pastimes of reading and watching movies.
Known for his gentle and kind nature, Jim will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jim is survived by his sister, Sylvia Devlin; brothers, Donald Davis, Thomas Davis; nieces, Melissa Devlin, Amanda Davis, Abigail Davis.
