James Crandall White, 87, of Edgewood, MD passed away on September 6, 2015 at Brightview Perry Hall in Baltimore, MD. Born in Marlborough, MA, he was the son of the late William Wallace White and Marjorie (Crandall) White. He worked for the U.S. Government as the Director of the Small Arms Testing Division at Aberdeen Proving Ground, where he was employed his entire working career.
Mr. White is survived by his wife, Patricia Elizabeth (Kliskey) White; children, Janice Carol White and Tony of Worcester, MA, James Crandall White Jr. and Kathy of Athens, TN and Judith Carolyn Whitaker and Dave of Kingsville, MD; sister, Mary (White) Walkup; grandchildren, Jessica Pitsillides, Aaron Carchedi and James Crandall White III; and great-grandchildren, Jake, Eva and Michael. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, William Wallace White Jr.
Mr. and Mrs. White met and first dated in their hometown of Ashland, MA. Mr. White graduated from the University of Maine, Orono, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was the devoted husband to Patricia, his high school sweetheart and wife of 64 years. They raised their family in Edgewood, MD and were active (55 year) members of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry and volunteered at many events. Mr. White was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross. He shared many interests with his wife and family including travel, music, taking long walks, cruising, fireworks and Disney World. He will be lovingly remembered for his honesty, patriotism, piano playing, wonderful sense of humor and love of family.
