James Dale Cook

James Dale Cook, age 87, of Joppa, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2024. He was born in Pineville, West Virginia, to the late Lacey and Thelma (Sizemore) Cook and was the devoted husband of the late Irene (Oaks) Cook, just shy of celebrating 62 years of marriage together.

James was a faithful member of Sovereign Grace Church and found great joy in his community there. His passions included fishing, gardening, and hunting. He was an avid enthusiast of classic cars, finding fulfillment in every aspect of their maintenance and restoration. Additionally, James had a keen eye for photography, capturing the beauty of life through his lens.

James is survived by his daughter, Teresa Cook-Simpkins (Curtis); son, James Daniel Cook (Karyn); grandchildren, Sierra Wells, Daniel Cook, Aaron Cook, and Joshua Cook; brother, Randall Cook; and sister, Mary Lou Cudar (Cook).

In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Dale Cook; sister, Wilma Cook; and brother, Jerry Cook.
