James Clarence Smith

June 2, 1925 — March 7, 2010

James Clarence Smith, age 84, of Bel Air, MD, died on March 7, 2010 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late James Clyde and Bessie Mae Choate Smith. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he retired after 20 years, from Aberdeen Proving Ground where he was a test driver. He was a member of the VFW in Marion, VA and the American Legion in Aberdeen. An avid bowler, hunter, and fisherman, he also enjoyed woodworking.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pauline Davis Smith of Bel Air, MD; and brother, Ray Smith of Baltimore, MD. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Donald, Ralph, and Lewis Smith, and his sister, Ruth Ann Ray.
