James Carroll Lockard Sr.

James Carroll Lockard Sr., age 85, of Bel Air, MD, died on May 19, 2009 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Ruby Amelia Lloyd Lockard. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served our country during WWII. A resident of Harford County for 43 years, he worked for Vermont Savings and Loan for 38 years, where he was vice president, and also at Baltimore Federal, in the city, for 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled Veterans for Foreign Wars. His hobbies included stamp and coin collecting and he played tennis and baseball until he entered the Army.

Mr. Lockard is survived by his wife of 43 years, Helen Mae Combs Lockard of Bel Air, MD; sons, James C. Lockard Jr. of Bel Air, MD and Randy D. Lockard of Cape Canaveral, FL; daughters, Lucinda Ann McDonagh of LaPlata, MD, Patricia Ann Duni of Berlin, MD, Linda Osborne of Tampa, FL, Brenda Roozen of Ft. Washington, MD; and Lisa Herring of Orrtanna, PA; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Charles Lloyd Lockard.
