JAMES (JIM) P. BECK, age 82, of Aberdeen, died at Mariner Health of Forest Hill on January 25, 2005. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late James J. Beck and the late Mary Magdeline McMillan Beck Robinson and the husband of the Mildred Hodges Beck. He was retired from the US Government where he was a research analyst. He was a long time member of the Aberdeen American Legion, a member of the Catholic War Veterans, the AARP and the NARFE. He served in the Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict and was awarded the bronze star for meritorious service during the Rhineland Campaign in 1948.
Mr. Beck is survived by two sisters, Patricia C. Roberts of Bel Air and Margaret M. Crabb of Bel Air; a dear friend, Opal C. Haggerty and family of Aberdeen; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Phillip J. Beck.
