James Anthony Genovese, age 74, of Street, Maryland passed away peacefully on February 24, 2023 at his home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Anthony Francis Genovese Jr. and Regina Theresa Genovese.
James is survived by his wife, Marie Genovese; daughter, Amélie Genovese; brothers, Joseph Genovese and Anthony (Dawn) Genovese; and sister, Mary Ann (Joseph) Clark.
James graduated from Archbishop Curley and attended Essex Community College and Towson State University. He worked at Bethlehem Steel, taught nurses at Essex Community College and taught at Villa Julie and St. Paul’s School for Girls. He received a master's degree in Organic Chemistry, and later in Business Management. Lastly, he worked for the US Army at the Edgewood Chemical Biological Center for 32 years, serving as ECBC Engineering Support Division’s IDEA Team Branch Chief, worked on the CHEM/BIO Counterterrorism Team, and was actively involved on the RDECOM Invention Committee for 26 years. During his career, he owned 40 patents for his inventions. He retired in 2013.
