James Alexander Dixon

James Alexander Dixon, age 92, of Aberdeen, MD, died on February 5, 2009 at Victorian Estates in Bel Air, MD. Born in Jefferson, NC, he was the son of the late John and Dora Williams Dixon. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground where he was an Ammunition Technician. He was the oldest deacon of Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Bel Air, MD where he had been a dedicated member for over 55 years.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Shatley Dixon of Aberdeen, MD; daughter, Adgelene Pender of Aberdeen, MD; two grandchildren, Deborah Pender Katz and John Joseph Pender Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Christine Reider, Matthew John Pender, Sarah Pender, and Sean Katz.

Pallbearers were John Joseph Pender Jr., Matthew John Pender, Thomas Reeves, Don Greenfield, Tim Humes, Steve Parker, and Asa Moseley. Honorary pallbearers were Luke Humes, Mark Humes, Robert Farrington, Raymond Evers, and James Plummer.
