JAMES A. RAGAR, age 72, of Havre de Grace, died at his residence on December 30, 2004. Born in Street, he was the son of the late Garland Henry and Mary Eileen Hughes Ragar. He had retired from Harford County Schools where he worked as a custodian. His greatest joy was his family and his church family. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School and being a deacon in the church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Ragar is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dora Lee Charlton Ragar; two sons, Frank Charlton of Joppa; James Allen Ragar, Jr. of Havre de Grace; three daughters, Rita Charlton of Aberdeen; Mildred Cox of Street; Carmen Parks of Darlington; one brother, Carl Ragar of Altus, Oklahoma; two sisters, Hazel Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky; Mary Waters of Bel Haven, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Alma Ragar and Ida Carlie.
Pallbearers were: James A. Parks, Jason Johnson, John Hile, David Cox, Frank Barr, and Jimmy Raye Bell.
