Jacob "Rod" Slicer, of Perryman, MD, died at the age of 81 on October 17, 2016 at his home. He was born in Elkton, MD to Jacob Albert Slicer and Louise Edna (Styer) Watson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked for Crown, Cork & Seal as a lithographer. A very giving, kind and generous man, he always welcomed friends with a joke. He enjoyed spending time with all the children while driving a school bus, woodworking, traveling and going camping. His family was very important to him and to them.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Betty C. Slicer; his sons, Rodney "Bucky" James Slicer of Newport News, VA and Paul Thomas Slicer of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Terry Scheeler of Abingdon; grandchildren, April, Kristina, Amber, Brandon, Andrew, Megan, James, Cody and LeAnn; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Kiley, Shawn, Maddie, Brianna, Malia, James Jr., Nic, Alyssa, Jeremiah, Tyler, Alli and Liam.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Alzheimers Disease Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
