J. Arlene Whitaker

J. Arlene Whitaker, age 84, of Churchville, MD, passed away on October 21, 2011 at the House of Jubilee Assisted Living in Fallston, MD. Born in Dunmore, WV, she was the daughter of the late Austin Dayton and Lillian Grace Grimes Dahmer and wife, for over 60 years, of the late Joseph C. Whitaker Sr. She was a secretary at Aberdeen Proving Ground until her retirement after 20 years of service. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Eastern Star and loved vacationing at Chincoteague Island, VA with her family.

Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her daughters, Carolyn V. Duvall and Camellia W. Warrington, both of Bel Air, MD; sisters, Jean Carpenter of PA and Joanne Waugh of MD; grandchildren, Todd Robinson and William Street, both of Bel Air, MD, Joseph Whitaker III of Baltimore and Kim Warrington of DC; and seven great grandchildren, Trey, Kylie, Gavin, Bret, Carley, Ty, and Kristofer.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, Joseph C. Whitaker Jr., brother, Frank A. Dahmer and sister, Linda Caballero.

Pallbearers were Todd, Bill, Joe, Bret, Kim, Trey, Ty, Kristofer, Kylie and Carley.
