Irma Licia Thrush-Alley, a beloved member of the Bel Air, Maryland community, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024, at the age of 89. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Irma was the cherished daughter of the late Nicholas and Antoinette (Di Camillo) Pomilio, and was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Carl Gordon Thrush.
Irma's journey began in Baltimore, where she graduated from Seton High School, fostering a lifelong commitment to her Catholic faith. She embraced her Italian heritage with pride, insisting on cooking for anyone who walked through her door. She will be remembered best for her Christmas Eve crab pasta and her love for corn on the cob in summer.
A faithful member of St. Ignatius Church since 1972, Irma found solace and community in her spiritual life. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her kind heart endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Irma had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved, radiating joy and warmth wherever she went.
In addition to her husband, and parents, Irma was preceded in death by her previous spouse, Daniel H. Alley, Jr., her brother, Vincent M. Pomilio, and her sister, Rose M. Esposito. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Irma is survived by her devoted sons, Mark G. Thrush and Steven S. Thrush, daughters-in-law, Wanda Thrush and Catherine Thrush, sister in-law, Rita M, Pomilio and the pride and joy of her life, her granddaughters, Eliese Nicole and Olivia Grace Thrush, earning Irma her cherished title of Mommom.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irma's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was close to her heart. Contributions can be sent to PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
