Irene Frances Eller née Baker, age 86, of Wilkesboro NC passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11 at Dacota Broad Creek Assisted Living in Whiteford MD. Irene was born June 7, 1928 to Milton Greenwood Baker and Zelma Mae Baker. In 1951 she moved to Maryland with her husband William Lonnie Eller who preceded her in death in 2005. She enjoyed boating on the Bush River, Chesapeake Bay and traveling in their camper to Ocean City and NASCAR races. Irene worked for the A&P for 36 years and upon retirement she and Lonnie returned to North Carolina and enjoyed many good years with family and old friends.
She is survived by her son, Ron Eller and his wife Chris of Bel Air MD, daughter Debi Ryan and her husband Jim of Purlear NC, grandson Zachary Eller, granddaughter Trish Ryan, great granddaughters, Laurel, Mackenzie and Kylie. Her granddaughter Kari Lynn preceded her in death She is also survived by two sisters, Ennis Sponaugle of Boonsboro MD and Vee Baker of Fort Sill SC, brother-in-law Joe Eller and his wife Peggy of Wilkesboro NC and many nieces and nephews.

Please join us for a memorial service celebrating Irene at Boiling Springs Baptist Church, 1390 Boiling Springs Road on Tuesday July 15th at 1:00 PM. Burial and wake to follow.
We would like to thank the amazing staff at Dacota who have provided a loving home for Irene for the last three years and who have in turn become our extended family. We will forever be grateful and always close.
