Irene Atwood Bandy, age 88, of Bel Air, MD passed away on July 20, 2018 at the Senator Bob Hooper House in Forest Hill, MD. Born in Laurel Springs, NC, she was the daughter of Franklin Winston and Johnsie Eller (Brooks) Atwood, and wife of the late Jesse Bandy and Robert R. Miller Sr. For three years she worked as a floor lady on the sewing line at Bata Shoe Company, and then for 40 years, she was the bookkeeper for her late husband Robert Reece Miller, Sr.'s construction business.
Mrs. Bandy is survived by son, Robert Reece Miller, Jr. and wife, Jen, of Bel Air; daughter, Melinda Arnold and husband, Jerry, of Street; sisters, Johnsie Madgelene Webb of Rocky Mt., VA and Lorene Darnell of Street, MD; grandchildren, Raymond and Winston Arnold, Brandon, Zacheriah, and Ezekiel Miller; and great-grandsons, Jacob Arnold, Brayden Mazzuca and Shade Miller.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Ann Kirk.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10am, at Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD.
