Inez Rachel Wood

INEZ RACHEL WOOD, age 93, of Bel Air, MD, died on October 3, 2007 at Rock Spring Village, Forest Hill, MD. Born in Sparta, NC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Letcher and Louisa Geneva Estep Irwin and wife of the late Bays F. Wood. A Harford county resident for over 80 years, she grew up on the family dairy farm and later became a farmer’s wife. As a beautician, she owned and operated Inez’s Beauty Nook in Forest Hill for over 20 years. A long time member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school at Bel Forest Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wood is survived by two sons, Arthur F. Wood of White Hall, MD and Gene R. Wood of Red Lion, PA; three daughters, Joyce M. Bryant of Ormond Beach, FL, Dorothea V. Barnes of Locust Grove, VA, and Mary R. Monk of Forest Hill, MD; two brothers, Willard Irwin of Milford, DE and Paul Irwin of El Paso, TX; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Oscar L. Wood; three brothers, Raymond Thomas Irwin, Everette Rex Irwin, and Cleve Lester Irwin; and four sisters, Zora Wilson, Hazel Irwin, Gladys Eldrith, and Dorothy Lamborn.

Pallbearers will be Glen Monk, Chad Monk, Ryan Hoosier, Andrew Hoosier, Michael Wood, and Michael Wood Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Wood, Brian Wood and David Hoosier.
