Hugh J. Hanley, Sr.

HUGH J. HANLEY, SR., age 68, of Bel Air, died in Baltimore V.A. Center on December 3, 2004. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Felix John and Mary Mitilda Milan Hanley. He was the owner and operator of Kelly-Hanley Pontiac in Perry Hall. He had also worked for City Finance, Hugh Hanley Auto Sales, then Kelly Hanley Pontiac and Fallston Auto Sales. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and St. Johns 10th Ward in Baltimore. His life was his family. He had served as the best man in the weddings of all five of his sons. He was an avid sports fan of lacrosse, football and baseball. He had graduated from Forest Park High School in Baltimore and was an All-Maryland Football Player. He had served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Hanley is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary P. O’Donnell Hanley; five sons, Sean P. Hanley and his wife, Susan of Monkton; Hugh J. Hanley and his wife, Cindy of Bel Air; Patrick S. Hanley and his wife, Sherri of Bel Air; Terence O. Hanley and his wife, Debra of Bel Air; Bendan X. Hanley and his wife, Lisa of Ocean City; one brother, Michael Hanley of San Diego, California; one sister, Kathleen Hanley Ames of San Diego, California; and twelve grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Sean Hanley, Jr., Daniel Hanley, Matthew Hanley, Patrick Hanley, Jr., Victor Norris, And Buzzy Fisher. Honorary pallbearers were: Kayla E. Hanley, Connor A. Hanley, Gavin Hanley, Garrett Hanley, Curran Hanley, Trevor Hanley, Ivan Hanley, Hugh Hanley, III, Bruce Alderman, and Kevin Kavanaugh.
